Quality manufactured in Montesano, USA by Vaughan Company, Inc., Vaughan chopper pumps are heavy-duty centrifugal pumps with the unique ability of chopping all incoming solids prior to pumping. They will chop and pump difficult solids laden wastewater and sludge that conventional cutter and grinder pumps cannot handle. These robust pumps will provide trouble free operation in the most severe pumping environments found in wastewater treatment plants and other industrial waste processes.
With the same basic concept being used by Vaughan Co. for nearly half a century, the result is a highly dependable and proven solids handling pump that works. Suitable for a wide range of processing and wastewater applications, Vaughan chopper pumps will provide outstanding performance where solids in suspension cause clogging and blockage problems. This ability not only protects the pump from clogging, but also provides added benefit to downstream components, processes, and the environment.
Capacity Range:Available in a range of sizes and configurations for flow rates between 20 and 2000 m³/hr and heads up to 50 metres.
Materials:Ductile cast iron materials with impeller, cutter bar, upper cutter and cutter nut all in cast steel and heat-treated to 60+ Rockwell C hardness. 316 and CD4MCU stainless steel options also available.
Applications:Pumping of raw sewage, sludge and scum containing rags, fats, hair and fibres, glass and plastics; process wastewater containing wood, wire, rope, bottle tops, plastic bags and strapping; meat, fish and poultry wastes containing bones, feathers, paunch material, fish carcasses, whole chickens and turkeys, blood, fleshings, hide pieces, ears, hooves and horns; food and vegetable wastes containing carrots, corn husks, potatoes, tomatoes, restaurant and food industry wastes.

ABEL GmbH & Co. was established in 1947 in Düsseldorf, Germany as an engineering firm to manufacturer pumps for the mining industry. Their focus is on designing and developing reciprocating positive displacement pumps for the transfer of difficult sludges, slurries, solids and a variety of aggressive, abrasive and viscous fluids. ABEL pumps are dry running, seal-less and highly efficient units that offer low lifetime operating costs, low maintenance costs and low energy costs.
All ABEL pumps are fully customised to meet individual operating conditions and application requirements set by the client. The line up consists of a variety of heavy-duty hydraulically and mechanically driven piston and membrane pumps that cover a wide range of demanding solids transfer and process applications. ABEL pumps can be found operating in some of the most severe roles in industries such as municipal and industrial wastewater, chemical and petrochemical, mining and ceramics, food and beverage, power and marine.
Capacity Range:Flow rates up to 400 m³/hr and pressures up to 250 bar.
Materials:Cast iron, nodular cast iron, stainless steel as well as high tech plastics.
Applications:Long distance pipeline sludge and slurry transfer, mine dewatering and desludging, digester feed, tailings transfer, filter press and spray dryer feed, transfer of abrasive, corrosive, acidic, alkaline, pigmented, viscous and granular media.

Emile Egger & Cie SA specialise in the design and manufacture of TURO centrifugal recessed impeller pumps for handling a wide range of slurries, solids, fibrous materials and other difficult to pump liquids such as aerated sludge. With only 15% liquid contact due to a fully recessed impeller design, Egger TURO pumps offer low shear and non-clog performance as well as improved hydraulic efficiencies.
Even under extreme conditions the Egger TURO pump will offer reliable performance and low running costs. There is great flexibility in the configuration with a number of dry and wet mounted options available. Egger also produce a range of other special solids handling pumps including channel vane impeller, semi-open impeller as well as axial flow elbow propeller pumps for larger capacity applications.
Capacity Range:The TURO range is suitable for flow rates up to 432 m³/hr and heads up to 120 metres, with a maximum operating temperature of 180 degrees Celsius as standard and specials up to 280 degrees Celsius.
Materials:Material options include cast iron, stainless steel, special fine grain chilled iron and abrasion resistant alloyed cast iron.
Applications:Suitable for difficult, stringy and abrasive slurries, sludge and wastewater in municipal and industrial waste processes and treatment plants, pulp and paper industry, mining and dredging, cement and ceramic, chemical and petrochemical, food, sugar and salt applications.

Although the basic rotary lobe pump design is not new in itself, Boerger has been a leader in introducing major maintenance and operational advancements with their unique range of heavy-duty rotary lobe pumps designed to transfer sewage, sludge, slurries, plus all types of industrial waste materials. Capable of handling solids up to 70 mm in size, Boerger rotary lobe pumps operate at slow speeds with a gentle shear sensitive action.
With a range of premium and optimum lobes, as well as replaceable lobe tip designs available, there is a solution for almost any application. These advanced rotary lobe pumps also incorporate Boerger’s revolutionary “Maintenance-In-Place” technology, allowing any spare parts replacement to be performed through the front of the pump, without the need to disconnect pipe work. Boerger also have a range of other unique solids handling technology including the Multicrusher, Multichopper, and the Powerfeed SSR.
Capacity Range:A range of pump sizes available to suit flows up to 1200 m³/hr and pressures up to 12 bar.
Materials:All cast iron materials with replaceable hardened wear plates, lobes or lobe tips. A range of other materials is available on request.
Applications: Ideally suited for sewage, sludge, wastewater, biosolids, oil, grease, soap, recycled wastes, starch, chemicals, slurries, pulp and paper, latex, ceramics, paint, coatings, petrochemical products.
